At Antojitos Tenampa, the fact that you can see us, talk to us, and know where your money goes matters. Everything is handmade fresh as you order... our tortillas, our sopes, our gorditas, our quesadillas... because authentic Mexican food doesn't come from shortcuts. We serve dishes that are almost impossible to find on this side of the border, from our pambazo dipped in guajillo chile sauce to our barbacoa de chivo to our menudo simmered with Grandma's special blend of spices. A Mexico City native told us our food is "as close as it gets" to the real thing here in San Diego, and that kind of recognition is what drives us to keep every recipe authentic. As Raul S. shared, "Being from Mexico City, I can say this is as close as it gets, at least here in San Diego." Our birria comes with free consomé, our salsas have real heat, and our Taco Tuesdays with guac included have built a following all their own. People stumble in off Broadway driving by and end up coming back twice a week because the flavors and the welcome keep them returning. We show up every day because this is more than a job... it's our community. We're grateful to serve the Lemon Grove community.
